First Call is a Catholic Charities program that links churches and faith-based organizations in a 12-county area to provide for the unmet needs of people and communities.
This free service uses a manned telephone system to receive requests for goods and services; the request will be matched from a databased inventory and a referral given. If the requested help is not in inventory, every effort will be made to find it, including links to governmental and community resources.
Extensive follow-up and updates are integral to the program; the goal is to supplement existing programs, not to duplicate. First Call is available to all persons regardless of race, color, sex, religion, creed, national origin, age, or disability.
